As part of the GloHealth #SeptemberSavings campaign, GloHealth revealed new research which shows that 69% of parents spend over €500 per year on extracurricular sports activities for each child, an important but often over-looked cost that comes to the fore when children go back to school in September.
GloHealth is now calling on the Government to help parents save money during the difficult September back to school phase by providing tax relief on sports club costs for their children. An overwhelming 93% of parents surveyed by GloHealth said that they felt tax relief on sports fees was a good idea, indicating that parents are becoming increasingly aware of the link between children’s activity levels and their overall health and wellbeing.
