Repro Free: 02/10/2014 To celebrate National Potato Day which returns for a fourth year on Friday 3rd October, Tom Keogh, potato expert and General Manager of Keogh’s Farm took to the farm today with Ross and Derek Keogh to showcase an insight into Ireland’s turbulent love affair with the humble spud. Each year millions of Euro are spent by consumers on potatoes, valuing the potato market at €195 million to the Irish economy.
Research conducted by Keogh’s Farm, Ireland’s much loved family farmers, revealed that the ever popular and versatile Rooster potato is still Ireland’s favourite with the highest consumption recorded in Leinster (54.25%), followed by Munster (28.14%) and Connacht (17.61%). Picture Andres Poveda
