Conor Murray scrums to support Temple Street’s Kiss Them Better campaign
Medicare ‘limited edition’ Kiss Them Better plasters raise €20,000 for Temple Street in 2013
Cian Smyth (3 ½) from Newbridge, Co Kildare tests Munster and Ireland Rugby star, Conor Murray’s hands as he passes him a ball during his surprise visit to Temple Street. Cian is today to receive a kidney transplant from his father.
Conor made a special visit to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital to mark the first anniversary of Temple Street’s ‘Kiss Them Better’ campaign supported by Medicare. Medicare commissioned limited edition ‘Kiss Them Better’ plasters and have to date raised €20,000 for the hospital. These funds will be used to purchase a defibrillator which is used to deliver an electric shock to help re-start a patient’s heart. On the visit to the hospital Conor urged Irish families to buy Medicare plasters to support Temple Street. For every pack of plasters bought from pharmacies throughout the country, the Limerick based first-aid company will make a donation to the hospital’s emergency equipment fund. Medicare has pledged to continue their support of Temple Street into 2014 with their ‘limited edition’ plasters. Check out www.kissthembetter.ie for more information. Picture Andres Poveda
