Jack (age 5) and his sister Ava O’Dwyer (age 7) are pictured with Architect Dermot Bannon as the The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and the Simon Communities of Ireland launch the tenth annual RIAI Simon Open Door Weekend. From today, the public can log on to www.simonopendoor.ie to book a one-hour consultation with the RIAI architect of their choice in return for a €50 donation to the Simon Communities of Ireland. All architects give their time for free and every cent raised goes directly to the charity.

To date, over €300,000 has been raised. This year, the Simon Open Door will take place over Saturday and Sunday, 10th and 11th May 2014. Picture Andres Poveda
