A new anti-cyber bullying school’s pack was unveiled at the event by Ruairi Quinn TD, Minister for Education and Skills. The #UP2US Anti-Bullying Kit contains awareness raising material, a new teaching resource for dealing with the issue of cyber bullying through the SPHE curriculum in post primary schools and an innovative interactive poster initiative.
The pack will challenge young people to find new ways to use the internet and social media to stand up to bullying and show solidarity with victims. As an incentive to inspire students to use the pack, Webwise is offering the school that does the most to create a positive and inclusive culture online a live school gig with award winning singer songwriter Gavin James.
Safer Internet Day is an initiative of the EU Safer Internet Programme. It is promoted in Ireland by the Webwise internet safety initiative of the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST). Watch Your Space is the Internet Safety initiative of the PDST.
