Content creator Caoimhe Byrne (@therealcraic) is pictured at the launch of spunout’s innovative BeReal With How You Feel campaign. spunout is the first ever organisation in Ireland to use the BeReal app as a communications tool, as they aim to showcase positive uses of social media for young people’s mental health.

Once a day, BeReal notifies all users that it's time to post on the app, with a 2 minute timer on the clock. BeReal is an alternative to the hyper-curated social media we're used to. BeReal has had 28 million downloads since its launch, with 74.5% downloads of the app taking place this year, an increase of 300% monthly active users.

Now, spunout are asking young people to use their daily BeReal moment to be honest with friends about their feelings, connecting youth in Ireland so that they feel less alone. Picture Andres Poveda
