Repro Free: Dublin – 20 May 2016 – Cian Barrett and Natasha Kalidin of LinkedIn are pictured with Mike Mansfield, Head of Marketing, Plan International Ireland as the charity announced that it has benefited by €1,000,000 from its award winning ‘Calling for a Cause’ partnership with LinkedIn, which involves the online professional network’s staff volunteering their time each month to call donors to Plan Ireland. The milestone was reached on LinkedIn’s Giving Back InDay on Friday 20 May as part of National Volunteering Week.
The nature of the ‘Calling for a Cause’ calls vary from a simple ‘thank you’, a personal invitation to an upcoming event or an update on their contribution. These calls have helped to generate increased donor loyalty, resulting in a substantial financial benefit to the charity over the past five years. As a result, ‘Calling for a Cause’ is now an integral part of Plan International Ireland’s communication and fundraising strategy.
The partnership forms part of LinkedIn’s policy of giving all of their staff a day every month, called an ‘InDay’, to invest in themselves and causes that they are passionate about as part of the unique culture at the company. With 1,000 staff at LinkedIn’s international headquarters in Dublin, ‘Calling for a Cause’ is one of the most popular initiatives among employees. Picture Andres Poveda
